What is Therapeutic Mindfulness?
Therapeutic Mindfulness is the science and practice of mindfulness principles combined with the psychoeducation of stress and trauma. Focusing on personalization, this approach promotes the development of a healthy mindset in relationship with self and others. The therapeutic exchange includes individualized assessment, stress and trauma management tools, and includes customized mindfulness practices. Therapeutic Mindfulness requires specialized training and skill to both build trust, and support safety, while creating an environment that is conducive to growth.
Who is it for?
Therapeutic Mindfulness is appropriate for everyone, including those who have experienced trauma, those working in high stress environments, and those who are looking for support with stress management regulation. Therapeutic Mindfulness is effective both with individuals and group settings.
Gina Rollo White
After graduating with a masters degree in Mindfulness Education, I spent the next several years delivering and fine tuning the curriculum I developed while in graduate school. My work has been focused on stress and trauma specifically related to first responders and veterans. Over time, I became more fascinated with how the tools of Mindfulness could be personalized based on each individuals needs and desires. This lead to creating an approach that takes the individual into consideration, creating a customized and therapeutic approach.
Today, I consult for a variety of agencies, departments and foundations. I am a frequent lecturer at conferences and continuing education programs. I’m also writing an interactive book on applying Mindfulness in the first responder and veteran communities, to be published next year.
